A vision is formed

Updated: Jan 11, 2021

Two things came together in order to form the basis of this website, brand and the potential publication of the first book.

Firstly I finally decided to put decades of knowledge, research and experience into an easy to access format including short videos, downloadable material and of course family orientated books. Secondly the environment surrounding mental health spoke for itself and that was that we need more. We need more easy to implement resources to help families care and support themselves. We need more open communication of the struggles we face as parents and carers and receive in return non-judgemental advice and support. And we need more tools to help us of us care better for ourselves, re-connect with our children and provide them with the emotional scaffolding they will need to develop into the adults they deserve to be.

You can expect to see this site being populated with really great stuff over the months to come but our primary focus at the start of 2021 will be raising capital through a crowdfunding site to publish our first book and further website development including short animated videos on mental health wellbeing and associated activities. We know we are off to a great start by some of the testimonials we have received on the draft copy of our first book 'tips, tricks and sciency bits to help handle anxiety'.

Family focus

Working with children, young people and their families is a profoundly rewarding role. Being a parent myself I know how hard it can be some times and how hard we can be on ourselves when we feel we are not doing the best for our children. We live in a very stressful world and often feel extremely isolated from others. The core value of our organisation is to provide tools that can be used by anyone and then passed onto to others who would benefit from them. The first such tool will be a picture book that can be read by children to themselves but also read by parents and carers to their children. the latter being especially powerful as it enables the whole family to benefit from the information and activities contained in the book.

Our first project

Along with the further development of this website we are planning the publication of our first book under the entitled 'Tips, tricks and sciency bits to help handle anxiety'. The overall concept is instilling day to day habits that really do work to improve our mental wellbeing, hence the name: It's not magic but it could be. We plan to launch a crowdfunding project in February in order to raise enough funds to get the book edited, illustrated and published. We will be posting more information on the crowdfunding project in the next few months so please sign up to our newsletter and follow us on face book and Instagram.

How you can get involved

Keep an eye on this website as we will be posting snippets of the book and illustrations as the characters are developed. By signing up to our newsletter and joining us on Instagram and Facebook you will be kept up to date on any developments including the launch and progress of our crowdfunding project.

Until next time, remember it's not magic but it could be.........
