As we conclude Children's Mental Health Week 2021, the team at 'it's not magic but it could be' have turned their attention towards a new goal; there's more about that in just a second. The videos we did last week have been fun to produce and have been well received by members of the Facebook group. If you haven't seen them yet then head over to the group page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/itsnotmagicdiscussion and have a look at the 7 days worth of short mental health boosting activities that can be enjoyed by the whole family. We should of course be making time every day for our mental health. Even when we are feeling OK , a few minutes spent on our mental health can help us build resilience so we can bounce back a bit easier from periods of low mood and anxiety. Speaking of which, have I mentioned it's 20 days until we try to raise enough money to launch our first book on managing anxiety?
What's the plan?.
I'm glad you asked. Although we will continue to put great content on our Facebook page and in the group, we want to do so much more, especially with our website and the printing and publication of some really great family friendly books. We are doing our best to find some grants to help out but in order to get things moving quickly we intend to launch a crowdfunding project on the 1st March 2021.
What is a Crowdfunding site?
There are numerous so called crowdfunding sites on the Internet, all with the common goal of allowing individuals or organisations to raise money in order to fund a certain course of action. In our case the monies raised would be used to develop this website and publish the first book which focuses on managing anxiety. When the project goes live in 20 days time you will see something like the image on the right via crowdfunder.co.uk. You will be able to track exactly how close we are to raising the funds needed to publish the first book and allow us to cram this website full of mental health boosting activities, information and animated videos for young people of all ages and their families. In return for any pledges made through the crowdfunding site we will of course be offering some intriguing rewards.
What rewards can I expect to see on Crowdfunder.co.uk?
We are still working on ideas for rewards but think they will look something like this:
As well as offering a signed copy of the book as part of all the rewards, we will also be giving all our supporters the opportunity to have their picture turned into a character by our illustrator Eve Bourrat and put onto the website for all to see. This one was mine which looks pretty spot on apart from I wear blue glasses normally.
We all know that drinking water is very important but with regards to the emotional freedom technique it is essential to stay well hydrated during and after an EFT session. A printed water bottle and a tapping points key ring will be handy to carry out a perfect reminder to do some tapping when we need an extra bit of help.
How about this little chap, a DIY felt teddy with the tapping points on that can be used to remind your young person where to tap, but can also be used in a different way which we will discussing in the group next week.
Fancy helping us spread the word?
If you know any one that would benefit from some mental health boosting tips then please share this blog with them and invite them to join the its not magic but it could be Facebook page and group. Your help is very much appreciated.
Take care of yourselves and remember, its not magic....but it could be
